Pronunciation focus for Gujarati speakers
Gujarati speakers often say /z/ as 'j' ('jero' for 'zero'), /f/ as an aspirated 'ph', and merge /v/ and /w/. Some speakers add a vowel before /s/ clusters, and the vowels in 'cat' and 'bet' are often merged.
The Teaching Phonetics and Live Phonetics courses show you how to work on these features with your learners, and with your own pronunciation. See also what mother tongue influence is.
