Pronunciation focus for Odia speakers
Odia speakers often aspirate /f/ as 'ph', replace /z/ with 'j', use one sound for /s/ and /ʃ/, and keep English vowels short. Learning to hear vowel length ('full' and 'fool') makes a quick difference.
The Teaching Phonetics and Live Phonetics courses show you how to work on these features with your learners, and with your own pronunciation. See also what mother tongue influence is.
