Pronunciation focus for Hindi speakers
Hindi speakers often merge English /v/ and /w/ (so 'vest' and 'west' sound alike), add a vowel before initial clusters ('iskool' for 'school'), and use retroflex t and d where English uses alveolar sounds. Word stress also tends to be more even than in English, which can make speech harder to follow for international listeners.
The Teaching Phonetics and Live Phonetics courses show you how to work on these features with your learners, and with your own pronunciation. See also what mother tongue influence is.
